Supporting change in the retail environment: consumer food waste prevention reviews

Building on our retailer review studies for WRAP, we are now working with ADAS to undertake 30 tailored consumer food waste prevention reviews for a range of Courtauld Commitment (CC2) signatories. The project has been developed to support Courtauld signatories to deliver the Consumer Food Waste Prevention target. As such, we are focusing on either a brand or own-label category and identifying potential opportunities for changes to, for example, the packaging, labelling, merchandising and communication that might help consumers get more out of the food they buy and waste less.

Each review draws upon a wide range of WRAP evidence, including data from the retailer review studies, as well as store visits and online searching, to develop a written set of recommendations.

Brook Lyndhurst is both acting as a project advisor on this work, and conducting data analysis for each review.
