Behavioural Insights for Organisations

A cross-government group, led by DECC, commissioned Brook Lyndhurst and the Institute for Employment Studies to undertake a research study entitled 'Behavioural Insights for Organisations'. The results have been synthesised into the policy-support tool ORGANISER.
ORGANISER is an innovative set of behavioural insights specifically about businesses and other organisations. The insights are arranged under nine themes, and are supported by examples of behaviours in practice, questions to consider, and a range of suggested actions designed to prompt thought amongst prospective users.
ORGANISER is derived from a rapid evidence assessment (REA) conducted by the Institute fort Employment Studies, of the factors which explain organisational behaviours and influence organisational decision-making. The REA considers whether these behavioural factors are generalisable across multiple organisation types, and utilisable by those seeking to influence organisations’ behaviours and/or decision-making.
ORGANISER itself emerged from a co-design process, devised and led by Brook Lyndhurst, in which prospective users from across the policy community in government worked collaboratively to formulate a package that is simultaneously robust, accessible and easy-to-use.
